"It was a privilege to serve on the NAMI Board and I am humbled to receive this honor," said Cline. "One in four people are affected by mental illness. This is deeply personal to me because mental illness has affected family members, as well as many artistic and creative people that I know. Mental illness is a disease and those who are affected with it shouldn't feel shame or embarrassment. My dream is that someday the stigma will be eradicated. It is one of NAMI's missions as well to provide support to those affected by the disease and their families."

"Brenda has been a true champion in our struggle to develop a strong NAMI affiliate in Davidson County," said Gregory Fisher, present Board President of NAMI Davidson County. "Her faith and belief that this organization is needed and must be created never waivered. She is a hero of our movement."

Cline was among 12 founding members recognized at the dinner on October 20 for their dedication and commitment to establishing the current, active chapter of NAMI within Davidson County:

"Tonight we are honoring the original, founding board members of NAMI Davidson County," said Fisher at the awards dinner. "Three years ago, they bravely stepped forward to form this organization to ensure that Nashville and Davidson County have a strong voice and inspired programs to provide advocacy, education and support for individuals with serious mental illness and their loved ones. It was a difficult time. It would have been easier to let the current situation continue to exist unchallenged. But these 12 people saw it differently, took on the task and prevailed. Today, we have a vibrant, thriving NAMI affiliate in the heart of Middle Tennessee, ready to meet the needs of our members and all those who are recovering from the devastating effects of mental illness."

The founding Board Members for NAMI Davidson County are: Regina Baiden, Kathy Ballinger, Woody Cade, Brenda Cline, Michael Corbin, Elliott Garrett, Rev. John Lewis, Rori Mason, Steve Pulford, Kim Speakman, Kubra Snow, and Evelyn Yeargin.

Marty Grebb

MARTY GREBB COLLABORATES WITH LEON RUSSELL ON SONG "HEARTBREAKER"

Bluesy Cut From Grebb's Acclaimed High Steppin’ Album

(NASHVILLE – November 3, 2011) "Heartbreaker" is the latest single release off of American Roots/Blues artist Marty Grebb's current album High Steppin', and one of two songs on the album co-written with legend Leon Russell.

Although he most-frequently writes solo, Grebb said he knew that long-time friend and former band mate, Leon Russell, was the one to finish writing "Heartbreaker," a song inspired by Grebb's own life.

"I started writing 'Heartbreaker' and it struck me that Leon would be the perfect person to collaborate with and help me finish the song. I can't say why, really, it was just a feeling," said Grebb. "In the past I would never consider such a thing. In my opinion, Leon is one of America's best lyricists, and I put him second only to Bob Dylan. But considering the musical style of this song, Leon is number one."

Grebb continued: "The first two songs on this record (High Steppin') were written with Leon. I had the chorus of this first one pretty much done, and scat sang a melody over the verses and bridge, and Leon wrote the rest to that. I feel very blessed that he was interested in collaborating on 'Heartbreaker' for the album."

"Can't Get You Out Of My Mind," is the second track on High Steppin' that was co-written with Russell.

Leon Russell had Grebb play in his band several years ago. Having worked with him, Russell knew the depth of Grebb's musical abilities and talent and challenged Grebb to write, produce, arrange and play every instrument on his album. High Steppin' is the result of that challenge.

High Steppin' is Grebb's "homage to American Blues and R&B music." It demonstrates the best of Grebb's musical and vocal style that incorporates influences of Big City Blues, Delta and Combo Styles Blues, along with a mix of New Orleans music that he was exposed to along the way. The album has been receiving accolades from legends Bonnie Raitt, Garth Hudson and Leon Russell.

Steve King, from WGN in Chicago, said this about High Steppin': "This is the best album I have heard in over a decade, period!"

ABOUT MARTY GREBB:

Marty Grebb started studying and playing music at the age of eight and hasn't stopped since then. He was a past member of The Buckinghams and Chicago, and has played for and worked with many legendary artists including Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks, and Leon Russell - to name only a few. Marty Grebb is currently signed to Luna Chica Records in Nashville, Tenn.

Steff Mahan

LUNA CHICA RECORDS SIGNS ARTIST STEFF MAHAN

"Find Yourself" Slated As First Radio Single

(NASHVILLE - Oct. 5, 2011) Luna Chica Records (LCR) is proud to announce the signing of Alternative Country/Americana artist and songwriter Steff Mahan to the Nashville-based indie label.

Mahan's raw, heartfelt and memorable songwriting, along with her genuine gift for storytelling, is what attracted Brenda Cline, Luna Chica Records' COO, to Mahan's music.

"Steff is an example of how an incredible talent can be totally overlooked by the music industry. It's hard to believe that she has never landed a label home," said Cline. "Speaking for our entire team, Steff is the type of artist that we get excited about. Not only is she an amazing talent, but also a really great person. When she walks into our offices she lights up the room, and keeping us in stitches with her humor and antics is an added bonus! Steff has found her label home here with us at LCR."

"I am excited to be part of the Luna Chica records family because this is a label that loves music and is driven by their love of music. It's not about a look or an age or what's 'right now,' but about what is good music and what music can do for people," said Mahan. "It feels so good that after all the years of being too old, too rock, too country, too something, that someone was brave enough to take a chance on me. I always wondered why nothing had ever happened for me. Now I know. I had to find the perfect label that actually understood me and let me be who I am."

Plans for the first single release began immediately upon signing. Radio promotion for "Find Yourself," from the album Never A Long Way Home, is set to begin mid-October.

"We all get lost at some point" said Mahan in describing the upcoming single. "It takes time and experience to be comfortable in your own skin and to find the one who loves us in spite of it all. I believe some people are born with that gift of ‘here I am, take me or leave me' and are actually okay with that. But then there are the rest of us, who are constantly searching for something."

SINGER/SONGWRITER STEFF MAHAN WINS ACOUSTIC ROUNDTABLE MUSIC SEARCH

(NASHVILLE - Sept. 22, 2011) Luna Chica Records' artist Steff Mahan recently won first place in the 2011 Acoustic Roundtable Worldwide Singer/Songwriter Music Search with her song "I Tend To Lose Things." The announcement was made live on September 18 during the weekly Writers In The Round Radio Network online show.

"I feel really honored to win the Acoustic Roundtable contest, especially considering how many great songs were in the group," said Steff Mahan. "I was surprised and excited to win because the caliber of songwriters in this contest was so impressive."

Out of the 15 finalists competing for top honors (down from the 40 semi-finalists), a five-member judging panel voted unanimously for "I Tend To Lose Things," a song from Mahan’s debut CD, Steff Mahan.

"I Tend to Lose Things" has always held a special place in my heart. Even though it was on my first CD and was written several years ago, it is one that is always requested by audiences," said Mahan. "I think this song hits home for a lot of people because we have all lost something or someone dear to us, and even though it feels impossible, there is beauty in letting go and moving forward."

Andrew/Victoria placed 2nd for their song "Repeat Yesterday," and John Paul received 3rd place honors for "Another Second Chance." A listing of all finalists can be found at http://www.acousticroundtable.com.

As the winner, Mahan will receive a cash prize, custom acoustic guitar, a featured artist profile on Acoustic Roundtable's website, an interview and her song featured on Writers In The Round Radio Network, as well as additional publicity and promotion.

Mahan will be interviewed during the next Writers In The Round Radio Network show on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. Central. People can tune into the show at: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/acousticroundtable.

A recording of the Sept. 18 radio show can still be heard at: http://bit.ly/o49lmG.

Steff Mahan's winning song "I Tend To Lose Things" is available at www.LunaChicaRecords.com, as well as her three CDs, Steff Mahan, 42.50 and her recent release Never A Long Way Home.

Don and Steve White Daddy Bo

LUNA CHICA RECORDS RELEASES TULSA NATIVES DON & STEVE WHITE'S FIRST COLLABORATIVE ALBUM DADDY BO

New Album Already Achieving Chart Success

(NASHVILLE - September 19, 2011) Don and Steve White, the father-son team from Tulsa, Okla., have recently joined the diverse roster at Luna Chica Records in Nashville with the release of their first collaborative album Daddy Bo.

"Being from Tulsa, I have always respected and loved Don's writing, singing and musicianship. I'm blown away that there is yet another White that writes, sings, and plays guitar just as amazing. It's dual talent and dual listening enjoyment," said Brenda Cline, chief operating officer of Luna Chica Records. "It's an honor to be able to work with them and promote this incredible project. What a record!"

Both having success in their respective solo careers and working together from time to time, Daddy Bo is the expression of Don and Steve White’s varied musical influences and talents as songwriters, vocalists, musicians and producers. Terrell Lester calls Don and Steve White "genius times two," and Daddy Bo is the collaborative result of that genius. Although challenging to categorize, the album combines the elements of Don's signature "Tulsa Sound" of rhythm and blues, country blues, honkytonk shuffle and rock and roll with Steve's funky, groove-based influence and strong vocals.

"I'm a country singer who plays Blues guitar and that's what comes through in my music," said Don. "Daddy Bo is a generation blend of the original Tulsa Sound and the new Tulsa Sound," said Don. He laughed and continued, "We don't even know what that is, but some people seem to know."

According to Don, he had wanted to make a record with his son Steve for several years. "I learned from my Okie Fiesta record how great Steve was in the studio," said Don. "Once we got into this record (Daddy Bo), I learned to really count on him and trust his ear and his ideas."

Don and Steve collaborated on all of the music and co-wrote the title track, "Daddy Bo." They also co-produced the record with David Teegarden, former drummer of Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet band - and played on some of Bob Seger's biggest hits.

"It is a distinct honor and privilege to collaborate with my dad on this project," said Steve White. "It was great fun to work with him, David Teegarden, and all of the fantastic musicians on this album. I'm very proud of our work together, and look forward to much more in the future."

Don and Steve White's new album is already impacting music lovers far beyond the borders of Oklahoma. The global reach of their music was demonstrated by their #4 chart status for Daddy Bo on AirPlay Direct's Top 50 Americana/AAA Albums Chart for the first week in September, a position they are currently holding for the month. Stations from the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Austria, New Zealand, Sweden, United Kingdom, Uruguay, France and The Netherlands have downloaded songs from the album to share with their listeners.

Don and Steve have shared the stage in concert with many greats, including: Dwight Yoakam, Delbert McClinton, Buddy Guy, Asleep At The Wheel, Merle Haggard, Pam Tillis, and others.

Fans Of Luna Chica Records' Singer/Songwriter Steff Mahan Help Colby's Army Operation Backpack And The Homeless

(NASHVILLE – August 18, 2011) Fans of Luna Chica Records singer/songwriter Steff Mahan more than delivered on their promise to donate backpacks and daily necessities such as shampoo and toothbrushes to the Colby's Army Operation Backpack program. At a Steff Mahan show at Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsley on Friday, August 12, roughly 150 gallons of backpacks and items were collected and will be distributed to the homeless.

"I was blown away by the kindness and generosity of Steff's fans," said Lisa Wysocky executive director of Colby's Army. "Their donations will go a long way toward giving our area homeless dignity, as well as everyday conveniences, such as the use of a washcloth, that many of us take for granted."

Billboard's Mike Gionet called Steff Mahan's mix of rock, roots, folk, and country "an entertaining can't-miss performance." With a voice that is pure and powerful and lyrics that are heart-crafted and rock-solid, it's hard not to get hooked on the emotional truth that comes out of this born songwriter's mouth.

The two-hour sold-out show was taped for future airplay on IMN Internet radio (www.indiemusicnashville.com). The show featured songs penned by Steff Mahan and was highlighted by numbers with both her full band and solo acoustic numbers. Steff received a standing ovation after her performance.

"Steff is a passionate artist and a very generous person. She wanted to use this show to bring attention to Colby's Army because she believes in its mission," said Brenda Cline, chief operating officer of Luna Chica Records and board member for Colby's Army. "Both Steff and her fans gave from their hearts on Friday. It was an incredible evening."

Colby's Army is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that educates and offers support in the areas of mental illness, addiction, conservation of the Earth's natural resources, and the welfare of animals. It was founded in memory of musician and songwriter Colby Keegan, who became homeless while battling mental illness and addiction. Colby wanted to leave the world a better place than he found it and his "army" is now doing just that.

Items badly needed for future backpack distributions are: backpacks in good working order, sunglasses, ball caps, bandannas, individually wrapped alcohol wipes, shampoo, conditioner, safety pins, combs and brushes, sunscreen, hand sanitizers, feminine hygiene products, lip balm, water bottles, small containers of foot powder; and winter caps, scarves and gloves. Financial gifts are also badly needed. All gifts and donations are fully tax deductible according to law.

With his signature sound, a mix of rhythm and blues, county blues, honkytonk shuffle, and rock and roll, he helped to build the foundation of the "Tulsa Sound" and bring it to international prominence.

Now that distinct Tulsa Sound has traveled east to Luna Chica Records (LCR) in Nashville, Tenn. The indie record label is representing Don White and three of his signature, independent albums: Okie Fiesta, Bits & Pieces and the soon-to-be coming Daddy Bo, a joint project with White's son, Steve White.

This isn't the first time White's been affiliated with a Nashville record label, although the dynamic has changed with LCR. At one point in Don White's career, he moved to Nashville after signing a major recording contract. At a time when other artists were striving for commercial acceptance, White never sold out. His belief in the importance of musical integrity, along with the quality of his work, has served as the foundation for his excellent artistic reputation among the frontlines of his peers. For White it's not about topping charts, it's about touching hearts - which is one of the reasons that White's current partnership with Luna Chica Records evolved. Both are concerned about musical integrity and spreading a unique, personal musical message.

Originally from Tulsa, Luna Chica Records' Chief Operating Officer, Brenda Cline, spent many nights listening to White play in the clubs while she was still living in Tulsa.

"I have admired Don and have been a fan of his for many years and he was on the top of my list to sign to this label," said Cline. "The Tulsa Sound and Don's music are very much a passion and love of mine. I am personally so proud to be representing him."

Don White is a prolific and accomplished writer. Roseanne Cash, Suzy Bogguss, Razzy Bailey, and The Oak Ridge Boys are a few who have recorded his songs. He's also been a regularly requested studio musician for artists, including J.J. Cale, Jamie Hartford, Waylon Jennings, Marty Stuart, The Tractors, and Johnny Rodriguez. By special invitation, White has opened for Willie Nelson, Delbert McClinton, Don Williams, George Strait, Merle Haggard, Toby Keith, David Allen Coe, and Dwight Yoakum, among many others.

Terrell Lester, formerly of Tulsa World, may have described White's songwriting, vocals and guitar playing best: "His lyrics are honest and simple, sometimes poignant, sometimes whimsical. His vocals are clean and pure, heart-felt and heart-warming. He takes no shortcuts, leaves no song to chance. He wraps himself around a tune and embraces it with the help of his audience. Watching Don White at work, with guitar in hand and a microphone at attention, is mesmerizing and captivating. It must be akin to watching Da Vinci paint."

Don White's Okie Fiesta and Bits & Pieces are available at www.LunaChicaRecords.com.

Jesse and Noah Bellamy - Buried In Blue Jeans

COUNTRY DUO JESSE AND NOAH BELLAMY RELEASE VIDEO FOR "BURIED IN BLUE JEANS"

(NASHVILLE – June 23, 2011) Country duo Jesse and Noah Bellamy have just released their new video for "Buried In Blue Jeans," the latest single off their album Landfall.

After pushing the mainstream country envelope with their previous video release, "Dirty With A Southern Drawl," that was deemed a bit too risqué for country music television, "Buried In Blue Jeans" takes the viewer into the Bellamy world with a song that honors their family legacy and their grandfather, Homer Bellamy.

Directed by Jon Spicola, a longtime friend of Jesse and Noah's, the video incorporates scenes from the family ranch and Florida's historic Townsend House Cemetery. The cemetery dates back to 1854 where several generations of Jesse and Noah Bellamy's family are interred.

The brothers acknowledge that some may believe that it’s somewhat disrespectful or morbid to sing on your grandparents’ graves, but they said it was a way to honor two of the biggest fans of country music they’ve ever known.

"Our grandparents are the reason we do what we do," said Noah Bellamy. I think a lot of people think we do country music because of our Dad, but we were pretty much raised by our grandparents while he was on the road. That's where we first heard stuff like Merle Haggard, Jimmie Rodgers, Marty Robbins and Jim Reeves.

Jesse Bellamy, who is the sole writer on the song, came up with the title the first time his girlfriend looked in his closet and discovered that he didn’t own a pair of dress pants.

"I had wanted to write a song for my Grandpa for a longtime," said Jesse. "One day it occurred to me to put the two ideas together. From there the song sort of wrote itself."

The video for "Buried In Blue Jeans" can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/jesseandnoah. For more information on Jesse and Noah or to download the song, visit: www.LunaChicaRecords.com.

JESSE AND NOAH BELLAMY TO PERFORM AT ANIMAL ADOPTION EVENT “UNLEASH THE LOVE”

(Nashville – June 21, 2011) Country duo Jesse and Noah Bellamy will be performing at "Unleash the Love" on Saturday, June 25 at 2:30 p.m. at Gallery 202, located in historic Clouston Hall, 202 2nd Ave., in Franklin, Tenn. The animal adoption day event is an initiative of Williamson County Animal Control and Gallery 202.

As animal lovers and current residents of Williamson County, Jesse and Noah, sons of David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers, wanted to be a part of “Unleash the Love” to encourage others to adopt a pet and support organizations who help shelter and care for homeless animals still waiting for new homes.

"There are several ways that people can help their local shelters to provide orphaned dogs and cats homes," said Jesse Bellamy. "Some people donate supplies, walk dogs, or give money. We chose to perform at this benefit. Not everyone can adopt a dog or a cat - especially those of us with hectic travel schedules, but sometimes you got to help out the best way you can."

"We love our four-legged fans," added Noah Bellamy. "We want them have the opportunity to choose the humans best suited for them."

"Unleash the Love" will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., including live music, food and craft vendors, and obedience demonstrations by East Tennessee K-9. Many dogs and cats will be at the event and ready for adoption. Cat adoption fees will be reduced to $25 (regularly $45). Dog adoption fees will be $65. Fees include vaccination plus spay or neuter.

For more information on Jesse and Noah, please visit www.LunaChicaRecords.com. You may also visit http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/TN75.html to find a current listing of animals up for adoption at Williamson County Animal Control.

Christi Bauerlee, Show Me Who You Are, Luna Chica Records

LUNA CHICA RECORDS RELEASES COUNTRY ARTIST CHRISTI BAUERLEE'S SHOW ME WHO YOU ARE

New Album Celebrates Musical Collaboration of Nashville's Best

(NASHVILLE - April 21, 2011) - Luna Chica Records International (LCR) is proud to announce the release of country singer/songwriter Christi Bauerlee's album, Show Me Who You Are. Bauerlee was signed to the Nashville-based indie label late in 2010.

Brenda Cline, Luna Chica Records' chief operating officer, first met with Bauerlee to explore the possibility of signing her to the label. Cline quickly discovered that Bauerlee already had an extensive catalog of songs written and recorded by her that could easily become a record.

"Christi is an amazingly gifted songwriter, singer and artist," said Cline. "I was super impressed by her songwriting talent and the production quality of her demos. When we discussed the possibility of recording a new record, I told her that she already had one – her demos."

According to Cline, the bar is raised very high for songwriters' demos produced in Nashville and feels that those demos could easily be made into quality recordings for commercial use.

"This CD represents all of the talent that helped make these songs sound incredible to pitch to other artists and now end up on Show Me Who You Are," said Bauerlee. "This CD is not only about me, it celebrates the other producers involved, my co-writers, every one of the musicians that played on my songs, the engineers that recorded, and the mixing engineers that mixed the songs. I'm proud and blessed to be part of such a talented musical community."

Show Me Who You Are consists of eleven songs packed full of life and all of the emotions that go along with it, and is described by Bauerlee as being "a little bit country, a little bit Southern rock and a whole lot of soul."

The first and title track on the CD is a fun, upbeat anthem of encouragement for women to embrace who they are and live a life with no regrets. "Caught Up In You," "In Bed With A Stranger," "I'll Be Gone" and "Perfect Storm" expertly hit the emotional nerves of the listener addressing the complexities of relationships from new love to wrong love to wanting love that can't be had. "Ripple" goes another direction telling the story of kindness and paying it forward, while the CD ends with the uptempo, motivational "Get On The Ride."

Christi Bauerlee's Show Me Who You Are is now available at www.LunaChicaRecords.com.

Red Dirt Rangers & Red Bull

Red Bull, Red Dirt and Red Dirt Rangers - Gypsy Café Event To Honor and Showcase Red Dirt Music and Movement

(NASHVILLE – April 1, 2011) Red Bull and Red Dirt Rangers' member John Cooper have teamed up to create Red Bull Gypsy Café, a special music event on April 14 and 15 in Stillwater, Okla. – the birthplace of Red Dirt music.

Gypsy Café is the result of Red Bull's vision to celebrate Red Dirt music with some of the genre's greatest talent from its earliest beginnings to the present. Throughout the two-day celebration, artists will gather to share the story of the movement that started at "The Farm," the historic location west of town where many of these musicians played and jam sessions sprung up over the years. The first day of the celebration is a private gathering reserved for the singers and songwriters who "are" the Red Dirt movement, with the second day bringing the Red Dirt music and its singers and songwriters to the public in the form of a small festival.

The Red Dirt Rangers have long been seen as stewards of the Red Dirt movement and sound, and Rangers' John Cooper was asked by Red Bull's Field Marketing Manager Katherine Dale to coordinate and organize the talent for the event. The Red Dirt Rangers, which include members Brad Piccolo and Ben Han, became a part of the Red Dirt scene over 20 years ago and started "carrying the flag" for Red Dirt music.

"I've never seen it anywhere else," said Cooper when referencing the camaraderie and support that fellow Red Dirt musicians have for one another and his enthusiasm for an event that will showcase just that. "It's truly a musical community that writes together, plays together, and collectively tries to raise the visibility of the whole scene. It's just a really beautiful thing."

Starting at 7:30 p.m. on April 15, day two of the Gypsy Café event, acoustic performances by several Red Dirt songwriters and musicians will take place in four different Stillwater venues – The College Bar, Stonewall Tavern, Eskimo Joe's and Outlaws. An all-venue pass is available for $20 to the first 200 people, or individually at $8 per venue. Passes and tickets can be ordered at ProTix.com. A shuttle bus will be provided for transportation between venues.

All proceeds from this event will go to the Red Dirt Relief Fund, a non-profit organization founded and administrated by Red Dirt musicians in Stillwater to offer assistance to musicians in times of need. For more information on the event and to see a full listing of all performers, please visit www.redbullusa.com or find Red Bull Gypsy Café on Facebook.

LCR Chick Night

Luna Chica Records Kicks Off Writers' Series – Hosts "Writers In The Round - Chick Night"

(NASHVILLE – March 25, 2011) - On Tuesday, March 22, Luna Chica Records celebrated its first of a series of writer's nights with "Writers In The Round – Chick Night." The event featured an all-female lineup of performers that included the label's newly signed Christi Bauerlee and Tarryn Smith, along with Kirsti Manna and Julie Forester.

It was an evening of music with the writers performing in an intimate, comfortable setting of oversized sofas and soft lighting that created the ambience of a living room house-show instead of an office or venue.

"One of our goals for 2011 was to create an incredible writers' series in an atmosphere that allows performers to connect and interact with the audience in an up-close and personal level," said Brenda Cline, Luna Chica Records' Chief Operating Officer.

Kirsti Manna, who co-penned Blake Shelton's six-week #1 smash, "Austin," kicked off the night of music. In addition to "Austin," Kirsti sang her rockin' piano version of "Loud," recorded by Big and Rich, and then contrasted it with an easy-listening jazz number. Kirsti also sang "Me and Brenda," a humorous song co-written with Jackie Bradshaw and LCR's own Brenda Cline. As a seasoned entertainer, Kirsti kept the audience laughing and engaged with both her music and comedic banter in between songs.

Artist/songwriter Julie Forester joined Kirsti during the first set of the night. Julie performed songs from her new EP, Julie Forester's plus 6 LIVE. As a dynamic performer who has traveled around the world, Julie's soulful and expressive vocals drew the audience right into her performance with the sinfully seductive "Let Me Be Your Lover" and the transparently honest "You Always Love Me When I'm Leaving."

Luna Chica Records' newly signed artists Christi Bauerlee and Tarryn Smith took to the stage for the second half of the musical evening with their mix of thought-provoking story-telling songs and rockin' country sing-a-longs.

Christi commanded immediate attention with a mix of her charming yet confident presence on stage and the intense, passionate vocals through which she sang her songs. Christi's honesty about her life and the story behind the intense ballad, "In Bed With A Stranger," created an immediate and personal connection with the audience. The light-hearted "Hillbilly Honey" conjured up an image for the ladies, but it was her heartfelt, personal rendition of Bonnie Raitt's "Love Me Like A Man" that was a crowd favorite. Christi's' new CD, Show Me Who You Are, will be released next month on Luna Chica Records.

Tarryn Smith, also a new artist on Luna Chica Records, took the stage with Christi and could easily be described as a "songbird" with her angelic voice and sensitive, inspiring songs. Tarryn's music added the perfect balance to the evening. Tarryn played several songs off her new self-titled EP available from Luna Chica Records, along with the optimistic "Expecting Good Things," which is the title cut on the Grammy-nominated album by Jeff and Sheri Easter and can also be found on Majesty, the newest release from the Gaither Gospel Series.

There was a great deal of positive feedback from the artists about the atmosphere and the audience.

"I feel at home with Luna Chica Records, so it was like playing in my living room for a bunch of friends. And it sounded better than some clubs I've played," Christi said. "The crowd was amazing and the talent, well, that was top notch! I'm looking forward to more in the future."

"It was so much fun to play alongside three fabulously talented gals at Luna Chica Records' Chick Night," said Tarryn. "It's an honor to be working with a label like Luna Chica Records that is creating new opportunities for independent artists."

The event was also used as a platform to raise awareness about Colby's Army and their Operation Backpack - an initiative of the nonprofit 501(c)(3) to provide new and gently used and fully stocked backpacks for the homeless. Luna Chica Records is a current drop-off location for anyone who wants to contribute to Colby's Army. For more information, please visit www.colbysarmy.org.

Marty Grebb

MARTY GREBB'S BLUES-INSPIRED HIGH STEPPIN' EARNS ACCOLADES FROM ARTIST LEGENDS

(NASHVILLE – March 10, 2011) – Blues/American Roots artist Marty Grebb is earning accolades from artist legends for his new album, High Steppin', recently released on Luna Chica Records International.

A diverse performer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and dynamic vocalist in his own right, Grebb has worked with and is recognized by some of the most iconic and legendary musicians of our era, including Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, Stevie Nicks, and Leon Russell.

"I had the pleasure of playing with Marty in my band in the old days. I hired him to play sax, but he ended up playing sax, Hammond, and guitar. He is astonishing on all those instruments," Leon Russell said. "Also, he has the soul of an angel in his singing voice. This is his second solo album and I'm quite sure you will love it as much as I do. This is a premiere event for your listening pleasure. Enjoy yourself!"

Grebb describes his new album as is his "homage to the American Blues and R&B music" that he grew up with in Chicago, where Chess Records and other Blues labels thrived at the time. The horn-saturated High Steppin' demonstrates a smooth radio-ready contemporary blues style that incorporates Big City, Delta and Combo Blues influences, along with a mix of the New Orleans music he was exposed to along the way. Marty not only produced the project and wrote or co-wrote 11 of the 12 songs on High Steppin', he also played all the instruments, including horns, keys, electric and upright bass, drums, and guitars.

"Marty has always been one of the most talented, soulful and versatile artists I know," said Bonnie Raitt, who met Marty in 1972 and not only enlisted him to tour with her but also utilized his talents on her Give It Up, Nick Of Time, Longing In Their Hearts, Road Tested, and Fundamental albums. "From our years playing together in my band, to his broad history playing on his own and with many of the greats, Marty is one of the very few musicians who can nail singing, keyboards, saxophone, guitar, bass, drums, songwriting and arranging with equal passion and authenticity. He's made another great, funky record in High Steppin'... terrific all the way around!"

Marty started his professional career at only 16 when he signed his first record deal with The Exceptions on Vee-Jay Records. By 1966 he was playing with The Buckinghams, who had six Top Ten hits and three Top Twenty albums for Columbia Records. Grebb's musical journey continued through several other bands, such as Lovecraft, The Fabulous Rhinestones and Chicago. In addition to Russell, Raitt, Nicks, and Clapton, his incredible musicianship has contributed to the music of other legendary greats including Greg Allman, Bonnie Bramlett, Willie Nelson, Etta James and Rosanne Cash. Clapton also tapped Marty to perform on his 2007 album, The Road to Escondido.

Luna Chica Records International

LUNA CHICA RECORDS KICKS OFF 2011 WITH MOMENTUM AND FIVE NEW ACTS

(NASHVILLE – February 2, 2011) Luna Chica Records International ended its first year in business with lots of excitement and is gaining momentum in 2011 with the signing of five new acts, the launch of their International Division, Internet-radio success and chart topping digital-download-to-radio numbers at AirPlay Direct.

The launch of its Internet-driven business model in May 2010 marked what General Manager and Director of A&R, Brenda Cline, calls "the re-birth of Luna Chica Records."

"I'm gratified with what we've accomplished since launching our new model eight months ago," Cline said. "We are very proud of the level of talent that we have delivered to radio and the extremely positive feedback we are receiving."

The indie label signed five new acts in the last quarter of 2010, including Oklahoma-talents Don and Steve White and the Red Dirt Rangers, country artists Christi Bauerlee and Tarryn Smith, and versatile musician and Blues/American Roots singer/songwriter Marty Grebb. The growing roster also includes: Jesse and Noah Bellamy, Tommy Job, Burrito Deluxe and Ty Crook.

Along with the new acts, 2010 brought plenty of other exciting "firsts." Luna Chica Records' International Division was officially launched in November when Lee Williams, owner and founder of Europe's #1 country radio station, CMR Nashville, was announced as the label's international director during Luna Chica Records' "Fall Luncheon." Williams will be instrumental in the signing and development of the label's international acts soon to be released at www.LunaChicaRecords.com.

Also, country duo Jesse and Noah Bellamy, sons of David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers, debuted their controversial and somewhat "risqué" video for "Dirty With A Southern Drawl," the new single release from their Luna Chica album, Landfall.

While December saw several Music Row companies close their doors, Luna Chica Records was pushing forward into 2011 with several radio exposure campaigns taking root for Red Dirt Rangers, Marty Grebb, and Jesse and Noah Bellamy.

Red Dirt Rangers ended up #1 with Ranger Motel on the AirPlay Direct's Top 50 Americana/AAA Albums chart for December 2010 and #2 for January 2011. Jesse and Noah's "I Want Texas For Christmas" and Grebb's "The Very Best Christmas" digital releases both garnered significant download attention from radio stations worldwide placing them high on the digital download Christmas charts for December. Marty Grebb's album, High Steppin,' also charted at #2 for the month of January on the AirPlay Direct's Top 50 Blues Albums chart.

"Just like the new Luna Chica Records model, radio delivery and promotion plans are no longer set in stone based on the practices of the past and by the same set of rules that traditional promotions run, " said Raleigh Squires, who joined the Luna Chica Records team in December to manage digital delivery and exposure to radio and radio promotions. "In fact, music marketing and promotion in the digital age are new processes for everyone and we feel we are helping to define some of the new rules."

The team at Luna Chica Records has learned that it's crucial to make changes and adjustments quickly – sometimes daily – as the Internet and the music industry continue to shift at rapid speeds.

"We created this new business model and we don't pretend to know all of the answers. Each day brings a new challenge, which we tackle with intense determination," said Cline. "It is more evident all of the time that we are paving a new way and giving artists other options to market their music."

Despite the ever-changing music business, Cline said that one thing would always be constant at Luna Chica Records – "great music."

Jesse and Noah Bellamy

Jesse and Noah Bellamy's "Dirty With A Southern Drawl" Single Released To Radio Following 'Dirty' Video

(Nashville- Jan. 20, 2011) Jesse and Noah Bellamy's single, "Dirty With A Southern Drawl," from their Landfall album, shipped to Texas radio this week and will be distributed digitally worldwide through Luna Chica Records International. The single is much anticipated following the release of the 'naughty' and somewhat controversial video.

As sons of the legendary David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers, the duo has not strayed far from their family's musical roots or their left of center mentality. Although the new single is straight ahead mainstream country radio, Jesse and Noah were cautioned by some country music traditionalists that the video was too 'risqué' for mainstream. Jesse and Noah have forged ahead with full support from their record label.

"Even though this video may raise a few eyebrows along Music Row and will most-likely not be embraced by CMT and GAC, we all feel it maintained the artistic integrity which it was meant to have," said Brenda Cline, general manager and director of A&R for Luna Chica Records. "We think that viewers are tired of the same old cookie cutter videos. I say 'bravo' to Mike McCarthy, and Jesse and Noah's creative risk taking. As far as the song is concerned, it's as country radio as it gets and it's great!"

Although the "Dirty With A Southern Drawl" video takes on an entirely different story line than the song, it doesn't shy away from catching the viewers attention when the opening scene has the word "striptease" displayed in old comic book style and foreshadows one woman's plan to stop World War ll.

The video was shot in Memphis and produced and directed by Memphis native Mike McCarthy, who is well known for incorporating elements of pop culture into his art. Actual World War II props were supplied by the Mid South Military Museum.

The video has already gone viral with nearly 5000 views and counting.

To listen to "Dirty With A Southern Drawl," watch the video or read more about Jesse and Noah Bellamy, visit www.LunaChicaRecords.com.

Red Dirt Rangers

LUNA CHICA RECORDS SIGNS RED DIRT RANGERS

Oklahoma Act Already Achieving Chart Success

(NASHVILLE – January 18, 2010) Luna Chica Records International is proud to announce the signing of the Red Dirt Rangers. Bringing their unique "Red Dirt" sound from Oklahoma to the Nashville-based indie label, the Red Dirt Rangers are a welcomed addition to the growing list of diverse artists on the Luna Chica Records label.

"We are ecstatic about signing the Red Dirt Rangers," said Brenda Cline, general manager and director of A&R for Luna Chica Records. "We feel very confident that by partnering with them we can help propel this act beyond their regional success to global success. In this business, it's the ultimate reward to not only work with an act whose music you love and respect, but that you respect who they are as people and what they stand for."

The Red Dirt Rangers, who are John Cooper, Ben Han and Brad Piccolo, have been carrying the banner for Red Dirt music and promoting the Oklahoma sound since the late 1980s – embracing the sound and scene that can be traced back to a place called the "Farm" in Stillwater, Okla. The Farm was the country home of Bob Childers and the place where Childers and many musicians and songwriters shared in the birth of Oklahoma Red Dirt music. Described as a blend of Western swing, country, bluegrass, rock, folk, and honky-tonk, with a few Mexican influences, the evolution of the Red Dirt sound can be attributed to other acts such as Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland and the Stragglers and Stoney LaRue.

"We are really excited about being a part of Luna Chica Records," said Cooper. "Their foresight about where the music business is going, as well as the heart and soul we've seen them put behind us and our music, makes us realize we made the right decision. We're very enthused about the future of this relationship and can't wait to see what happens next!"

"Red Dirt Rangers and Luna Chica Records go together like cold beer and a hot summer day," added Piccolo.

The Red Dirt Rangers' music impacts music lovers far beyond the borders of Oklahoma. The global reach of their music was most-recently demonstrated by their #1 chart position for Ranger Motel on AirPlay Direct's Top 50 Americana/AAA Albums Chart in December 2010 - a position that they are currently holding for January 2011, as well. Stations from the United States, Canada, Australia, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and many other European countries downloaded songs to share with their listeners.

The Red Dirt Rangers' latest CD, Ranger Motel, along with Oklahoma Territory, Starin' Down The Sun, and their children's album, Blue Shoe, are all available for download at www.LunaChicaRecords.com. The band is currently recording a new album with famed Oklahoma producer Steve Ripley. The album is due to be out spring 2011.

(TULSA – Dec. 22, 2010) The 15th Annual Red Dirt Christmas Show took place in Tulsa at the famous Cain's Ballroom on Saturday, Dec. 18, an event that's become a tradition for fans and musicians alike. The festive holiday show showcased the originators of the event, the Red Dirt Rangers, along with Stoney Larue, Turnpike Troubadours, Jesse Aycock, Travis Linville, John Fullbright, and Monica Taylor.

According to John Cooper, member of the Red Dirt Rangers, this year's show felt extra special with nearly 1000 people filling the ballroom.

"There was a lot of love in the room. Let me say that," said Cooper. "The vibe was incredible. It's fun to get up and play with our friends, entertain and do something good for a great charity."

The Right Path Riding Academy, a 501(c)3 charity based in Drumright, Okla., was the chosen charity for this year's event and will receive a portion of its proceeds. The Academy provides therapeutic horseback riding and cart driving for special needs children and adults in Northeast and Central Oklahoma. With the motto "Horses that heal and hearts that care," Right Path Riding Academy has been impacting families and helping kids since 1996 and is a great addition to the Red Dirt family.

A charity has been chosen each year since the first Red Dirt Christmas Show. Past charities have included Mandi's Ministries and John 3:16 Mission – both organizations having a history and focus on children and their needs. Cooper believes the world would be a better place if we'd all be more childlike.

"We decided the first year that it's very important to donate to a charity," said Cooper. "We've always leaned towards children's charities because we feel – especially during this time of year - it's important to put our focus on children."

At the end of the evening, all the musicians who participated in the show got on stage for the grand finale, encompassing about 17 musicians. The ensemble performed Bob Wills' "Take Me Back To Tulsa" and the classic "The Wait" by The Band.

"Singing a Bob Wills song helps all of us remember where we are and who did it before us," said Cooper. "And Bob Childers loved to lead the crowd and close every Red Dirt Christmas Show with "The Wait" before he died. Bob was a great songwriter and a great human being. He had always been a big supporter of the show. His spirit was in the air all night."

JESSE AND NOAH BELLAMY RELEASE "DIRTY WITH A SOUTHERN DRAWL" MUSIC VIDEO

WWII-Themed Video To Debut On Pearl Harbor Day

NASHVILLE (Dec. 6, 2010) – Jesse and Noah Bellamy, sons of legendary country crooner David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers, haven't strayed far from their family's musical roots. The second-generation musicians recently released their Luna Chica Records' debut album, Landfall. The brothers will debut the new video for their upcoming single, "Dirty With A Southern Drawl" on Dec. 7.

Appropriately releasing on Pearl Harbor Day, Jesse and Noah Bellamy offer a stunning new World War II-themed video featuring authentic props and vehicles from the 1940s. The video, filmed in retro-comic book style, pays tribute to the pop culture of the Greatest Generation and is set to Jesse and Noah's country-rock homage to Southern women: "Dirty With A Southern Drawl."

Originally, Jesse and Noah traveled to Memphis, Tenn. in search of one of the video's potential stars, the Memphis Belle, the WWII B-17F Flying Fortress made famous for its wartime heroics and pin-up nose art. However, the brothers quickly learned that the historic aircraft was no longer stationed in the city, forcing them to modify the casting and direction of the video. The brothers found appropriate substitutions with the Memphis Belle Burlesque troupe to provide pin-ups and the Mid-South Military museum to supply WWII props.

The video has already been deemed a bit too 'risqué' for mainstream pickup. However, Jesse and Noah feel that a viral hit isn't out of reach, considering the elements of the video.

"The components of this video give it the potential to become a major viral hit," said Jesse Bellamy. "It's beautifully directed by Memphis-based indie director Mike McCarthy, tells a really cool story, has some amazing visuals and is chock-full of sexy women. What more do we need?"

Noah adds, "In an age where reality TV dominates music video networks, we are happy to release our video on YouTube and other similar sites as we believe they are becoming the launching pads for 'the people's' music'." Further, Noah explains that he has watched artists in other genres bring their careers to new plateaus by producing creative quality videos for online viewers.

Video synopsis:
April and Cookiee are WACs (Women's Army Corps) during the final days or the war. April dreams up a plan to win the war for the Allies once and for all. She confides in her friend Cookiee, but soon makes a disturbing discovery involving the vicious Dragon-Lady. Meanwhile, Jesse and Noah are on patrol when they too make a shocking discovery - which could mean their doom.

Marty Grebb

LUNA CHICA RECORDS SIGNS AMERICAN ROOTS/BLUES ARTIST MARTY GREBB

Former Member of The Buckinghams, The Fabulous Rhinestones and Chicago Produces Solo Album, High Steppin', to be Released on Indie Label

(NASHVILLE - Nov. 19, 2010) - Luna Chica Records International is excited to announce the signing of American Roots/Blues artist Marty Grebb to the indie label, along with the release of his new self-produced album, High Steppin'.

Multi-instrumentalist Marty Grebb is a seasoned performer, musician and songwriter whose professional career started at age 15 when he formed a band with his high school friend, Peter Cetera. The band was called The Exceptions, and by age 16 he had signed his first record deal with Vee-Jay Records. By 1966 he was playing with The Buckinghams, who had six Top Ten hits and three Top Twenty albums for Columbia Records. Grebb's musical journey continued through several other bands, such as Lovecraft, The Fabulous Rhinestones and Chicago. His incredible musicianship has contributed to some of the biggest names in music, such as: Eric Clapton, Leon Russell, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks, Greg Allman, Bonnie Bramlett, Willie Nelson, Etta James, Rick Danko and Rosanne Cash.

"I had the pleasure of playing with Marty in my band in the old days. I hired him to play sax, but he ended up playing sax, Hammond, and guitar. He is astonishing on all those instruments," said Leon Russell. "Also, he has the soul of an angel in his singing voice. This (High Steppin') is his second solo album and I'm quite sure you will love it as much as I do. This is a premiere event for your listening pleasure. Enjoy yourself!"

Grebb's additional credits include performing on Eric Clapton's 2007 album, Road To Escondido, and working on arrangements with J.J. Cale who co-produced the album. As a songwriter, Grebb has written with Levon Helm, Daniel Moore, Richard Manuel, among many others. Grebb has also had guest appearances on some of his previous recordings from Jim Keltner, Steve Cropper, Bonnie Raitt, and Taj Mahal. Throughout his career, Grebb has appeared on several national and international TV shows, including: The Ed Sullivan Show, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, The Tonight Show, The Jerry Lewis Show, Saturday Night Live, and The Merv Griffin Show.

"Representing an artist of the caliber of Marty Grebb is an honor. When you look at his career and his accomplishments, he's undeniably contributed to our music culture," said Brenda Cline, general manager and director of A&R for Luna Chica Records. "The early response to his record is very exciting and it gives me personal gratification for this label to have the opportunity to deliver it to music fans worldwide."

High Steppin' is Marty Grebb's "homage to the American Blues and R&B music" that made an impact on his music as he grew up in Chicago, where Chess Records and other Blues labels thrived at the time. It demonstrates the best of Grebb's musical and vocal style that incorporates influences of Big City Blues, Delta and Combo Styles Blues, along with a mix of New Orleans music that he was exposed to along the way. Grebb not only produced the project and wrote most of the songs on High Steppin', he also played all the instruments on the album.

High Steppin', is now available for download exclusively at www.LunaChicaRecords.com and will soon be available on CD.

NASHVILLE-BASED LUNA CHICA RECORDS TULSA BOUND FOR TALENT

(NASHVILLE - Oct. 20, 2010) Luna Chica Records (LCR) A&R Director and General Manager Brenda Cline, along with Artist Relations Representative Kimberly Maiers Shaw, are traveling to Tulsa, Okla. this week to search for up and coming talent to sign to its newly launched indie record label.

Prior to the trip, Cline contacted long-time friend and music historian John Wooley to get his opinion on who the up and comers are in Oklahoma. Wooley is an author, screenwriter, and producer of a "Tulsan" western-swing radio show on KWGS and contributing editor and columnist for Oklahoma Magazine. He became the first and only writer to be inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2003.

"John keeps a pulse on the hottest acts in Oklahoma and was not short on names to give us," said Cline. "After following up, we felt it was really important for us to travel to Oklahoma to see these acts perform live. We feel very confident that we will sign new acts before returning to Nashville."

Although LCR is an Internet-driven label with a non-conventional approach to marketing music and working with talent, Cline does not hesitate to incorporate some traditional, old-fashioned scouting within the label's progressive model.

"It seems that no one in the music business ventures out to scout talent anymore," said Cline. "Music execs sit in their offices and wait for acts to walk in their door. We want to see these acts perform on their turf and share their fan experience. I'm not into the contrived, staged showcases that have become a Nashville standard."

Tulsa, Okla. has been recognized for decades by both music fans and historians as having a dynamic music scene and being a breeding ground for top musical talent - producing some of the most-diverse and influential music in music history. Icons such as Leon Russell, J.J. Cale, Bonnie Raitt, and Eric Clapton, have either been from Tulsa, or have lived or created extensively in Tulsa. Mega-million selling country artist Garth Brooks also hails from Oklahoma. Other country acts, such as platinum selling acts like Reba McEntire, Toby Keith, and now recently Carrie Underwood, have roots in Oklahoma. Ronnie Dunn lived and played in Tulsa before becoming part of the multi-award winning duo Brooks & Dunn.

In addition to following up on the specific leads received prior to the trip, Cline and Maiers Shaw will be scouting several venues, as well as Tulsa's annual Oktoberfest celebration, with the simple goal to seek out up and coming stars.

"We are looking for original, unique talent, but not necessarily mainstream and not necessarily what our counterparts in the Nashville music industry are looking for," said Maiers Shaw. "We want hard working acts that have already had some success in building a fan base and are committed to working in partnership with us on their careers."

Luna Chica Records just launched its new model earlier this spring and is progressively moving forward as the world of music and labels continue to change.

"We are different and we are proud of our differences," said Cline. "We are progressive and forward thinking about where we believe the music business is evolving to and we're embracing it each step of the way."

About Luna Chica Records International:

JESSE AND NOAH BELLAMY ANNOUNCE GRAND PRIZE WINNER OF "FIRST CALL AFTER LAST CALL" DEDICATION CONTEST

Special Dedication Video Now Posted for Viewing

(NASHVILLE – OCT. 6, 2010) Jesse and Noah Bellamy have announced Lindsay Ange from Atlanta, Ga. as the grand prize winner of the "First Call After Last Call" dedication contest.

Fans were able to participate in the "First Call After Last Call" contest by calling a dedicated SayNow number and leaving a message with who their "first call after last call" was and why. The country duo, along with their record label Luna Chica Records, sponsored the dedication contest as a fun way to get fans involved and promote the new single "First Call After Last Call." The song continues to climb up the Texas Music Chart and is also getting extensive airplay internationally.

As a special grand prize, Jesse and Noah created a personalized video dedication including an acoustic performance of "First Call After Last Call" dedicated to Ange and her fiancé Bo, who is her "first call after last call." The video also included Ange's own message she left during the contest outlining how much Bo means to her and how he is an amazing soldier in Afghanistan. "When I heard that song I could really relate to it," said Ange. "Bo isn't a rocker in a bar, but he's gone and I miss him so much. That's why I wanted to participate in this (contest) in the first place. Who better than to call and make a dedication to than to someone you really love and care about?"

"We are really excited to announce Lindsay Ange as our "First Call After Last Call" contest winner," said Jesse Bellamy. "When we heard her message, we couldn't think of anyone who may need a special dedication from a loved one more than a deployed solder."

The dedication video can now be viewed on the video page at www.lunachicarecords.com. As the grand prize winner, Ange will also receive an autographed copy of Jesse and Noah Bellamy's new Landfall album.

Jesse and Noah heard all sorts of dedications and messages from contest participants – from silly to serious. They discovered that people either think about loved ones or food. "It appears that Krystal and Waffle House are the big winners on the food front," said Noah Bellamy.

On a more serious note, Jesse and Noah both agreed that they would love every bar to play "First Call After Last Call" when they are shutting down to remind people to call a cab or a loved one to take them home.

The other weekly "First Call After Last Call" contest winners were Renea Harrison from Auburndale, Fla.; Laura Stout from Naples, Fla.; Don McGeehan from Alpharetta, Ga.; and Carla Ramey from Cleveland, Ga.

JESSE AND NOAH'S SINGLE SOARS 39 SPOTS ON TEXAS CHART

(NASHVILLE – AUGUST 20, 2010) "First Call After Last Call," the brand new single by country duo Jesse and Noah, continues to gain momentum with the recent jump of 39 spots on the Texas Regional Radio Reports Chart. Jesse and Noah, sons of legendary songwriter David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers, independently recorded and produced the song which will be on on their upcoming album Landfall, expected to be released this fall on Luna Chica Records International. The duo was signed to the indie Nashville-based record label earlier this week.

Jesse Bellamy, along with Danny Simpson (who has written songs for Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney and Rodney Akins), co-wrote "First Call After Last Call." The song is about the night in the life of a part-time rocker in the bar up the street who can't wait to make the 'first call after last call' to his wife after a night of playing in the honky tonks.

This isn't the first time Jesse and Noah have impacted the charts. Two self-produced songs from their 2008 Nowhere Revisited album, "Daddy's Got a Shotgun" and "Wild and Willin'," reached the Top 20 on both the Texas Regional Radio Reports Chart and the Texas Music Charts.

(Nashville, Tenn. – May 24, 2010) New independent record label, Luna Chica Records International, has officially opened its doors in Nashville with a fearlessly diverse roster of artists and a contemporary approach to traditional music business practices.

"In today's digital age, we have to completely switch gears when thinking about music and the business of music," says Luna Chica Records General Manager/A&R Director Brenda Cline. "We are prepared to do that and we are doing that. We're not bogged down in rhetoric and red tape. We make decisions and move quickly."

With emphasis on targeted Internet marketing, digital distribution and online sales, Luna Chica Record's business model typically offers artists more flexibility and a larger percentage of established and emerging revenue streams than conventional record label contracts. Through its strategic partnerships, the label is able to offer a full range of artist services, including video production, artist and songwriter development, sales and distribution, record production, new media marketing, career consultation and more.

Luna Chica's debut roster includes all-star Country and Americana outfit, Burrito Deluxe, hard rock band Hip Kitty, Contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Tommy Job and the label's newest signing, Memphis rocker Ty Crook.

"We are going back to the way labels used to operate," says Cline. "They used to go out and scout talent and develop it. Artists used to be judged on their talent, not their age. Being uniquely different was an asset for an artist, and we think it still is. LCR will seek out unique, great music and give fans something that they want, not something they are force-fed. Artists understand our concept and find it very refreshing."

Founded by Colorado businessman and music entrepreneur Paige Cofrin, Luna Chica Records International is staffed by a host of music industry veterans, led by General Manager and A&R Director Brenda Cline. Cline, former owner of artist development company Artist Concepts and management and development company NashRock Entertainment, oversees all day-to-day label operations.

Luna Chica Records International (LCR) Announces Addition of Memphis Rocker Ty Crook

NASHVILLE––Luna Chica Records International (LCR) is excited to announce the addition of Memphis-born rocker Ty Crook to their label.

"Ty is a phenomenal talent and we are both honored and excited that he has joined the LCR roster. His music is intense, emotional, and every performance––both live and in the studio––is filled with passion," said Brenda Cline, general manager and director of A&R for LCR.

Ty Crook joins LCR as a seasoned writer and performer whose musical roots run deep and wide. His parents were both signed to Stax Records when he was born and his great-aunt, Anita Kerr, was the founder of The Anita Kerr Singers and the vocal embodiment of the "Nashville Sound" that dominated country music in the mid 1950s and 1960s. As a seasoned artist and music creator, Ty has toured extensively in several bands, including Child's Play and Crooked Tom, has worked with rock legend Gene Simmons of KISS, and has composed music and dubbed singing for more than a dozen films for TriStar Pictures and Polygram Entertainment.

Ty believes that music should not have rules. Instead, he believes music should come from the heart, from the soul, from the essence of your being, which is one of the reasons LCR is so thrilled to be working with Ty. "My music focuses on intense, raw emotion and feelings. That's what I grew up with," said Ty. "Making music, good music that really touches people, touches their soul, is all I am interested in."

LCR plans on a Ty Crook project to be released summer 2010.

Midem Fuels Momentum at Luna Chica Records

NASHVILLE - Attending an annual global music conference in Cannes, France is one way to powerfully connect with music and business minds from across the globe - and that is exactly what four executives at Luna Chica Records International (LCR) did recently.

LCR's Paige Cofrin, president and CEO; Brenda Cline, general manager and director of A&R; Gigi Swanson, project manager; and Wayne Halper, head of legal and business affairs, recently returned from the 2010 Midem conference aligned with new relationships, information and strategic partners. As LCR continues to move forward in its development of artists and music on the global music scene, Midem proved to be a positive resource and experience. It was the perfect environment for open discussions with a wide range of individuals and companies dedicated to developing opportunities for artists and businesses in the changing world of music.

Besides connecting with other similar music minds, there was a lot of other information and speakers to absorb for all who attended the conference. This year Midem introduced MidemNet Academy where experts from around the globe presented timely information, strategies and tactics on topics such as digital marketing, using social media and other Web 2.0 tools to market and promote online, Metadata, mobile music apps and other opportunities in today's digital ecosystem.

"It's common knowledge that there is a massive shift happening within the music business," said Paige Cofrin, president and CEO of Luna Chica Records International."We not only went to Midem to introduce ourselves and our business model to the international music community, but to connect with other business minds and learn from experts about what to do to stay competitive and monetize music in the evolving environment. Most-importantly, what we learned and heard confirmed that the new business model for Luna Chica Records is in alignment with the changing music culture."

LCR plans to announce some of its new strategic partners that resulted from Midem and their projected impact on the company and its artists in the very near future.

Marty Grebb - Music, Maturity and Mastery

By Chuck Dauphin

Age, it is only a number. If there really was a cut-off point to living and creating, then we would be missing the stories of such notables as former Oakland Raiders star player George Blanda, who played almost into his fifties. Or television stars like Will Geer, who battled blacklisting in the 1950s only to gain his brightest moment of celebrity in his seventies playing 'Grandpa Walton' on the classic series The Waltons. In the middle of those personalities is Blues/American Roots artist Marty Grebb.

At age 66, Grebb isn't your run-of-the-mill pretty boy. But, he has a way of doing what he does, and he does it exceedingly well - and that is playing and singing the Blues.

Bonnie Raitt, who has collaborated with Grebb on several occasions, had this to say about the Chicago native: "Marty has always been one of the most talented, soulful and versatile artists I know. From our years playing together in my band, to his broad history playing on his own and with many of the greats, Marty is one of the very few musicians who can nail singing, keyboards, saxophone, guitar, bass, drums, songwriting and arranging with equal passion and authenticity."

Somehow, one gets the idea that an artist with the stature of Raitt doesn't utter those words about just anyone. And, when you listen to his music - particularly his latest disc High Steppin - you realize pretty quickly that Marty Grebb isn't just anyone. He sings it, he produced it, and he also wrote it and played all the instruments on the album. So yeah, he's 66 years old. But, with those years come a wave of experience that makes those lyrics and riffs take on a new meaning. After all, shouldn't you have lived it if you're going to sing about it?

Luna Chica Records COO Brenda Cline agrees with that assessment, saying, "These are questions that I ask my peers. Why, as an industry, do we substitute image for talent that is derived from experience? I understand the importance of image. At one time I worked in the modeling business. I get it. Image is important to a younger demographic and music that appeals to a younger demographic, some feel, is more profitable. But, what I don't understand is why the music industry as a whole alienates artists the moment they reach a certain age even though they write songs from a perspective that could have only been gained from living life much longer."

Grebb's perspective stems from a career that he started developing before he was ten years old. As a teenager, he was playing in a band with future Chicago lead singer Peter Cetera. At age 16 he signed his first recording contract. Along the way, his musical resume includes a stint in the group the Buckinghams, whose hits included "Don't You Care" and "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy."

With all of this going on, Grebb also made appearances on some of the top TV programs of the day, including The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, The Merv Griffin, and the most popular network variety program of all time, CBS's The Ed Sullivan Show.

After that, his career took him to stages that he would share with artists such as John Lennon and Joe Walsh. His session work also became very much in-demand over this period, as he became introduced to Raitt with her 1972 sophomore album project.

And, he didn't stop there. Grebb added to his portfolio success with songwriting, and even a stint performing comedy with such geniuses as Richard Pryor and George Carlin.

But, it's the music that has always led the way with Grebb. That's what others have picked up on over the years.

Leon Russell, who co-wrote Grebb's current single "Heartbreaker," said this about him and High Steppin': "I had the pleasure of playing with Marty in my band in the old days. I hired him to play sax, but he ended up playing sax, Hammond, and guitar. He is astonishing on all these instruments. Also, he has the soul of an angel in his singing voice. This is his second solo album, and I’m quite sure you will love it so much as I do. This is a premiere event for your listening pleasure. Enjoy yourself."

Radio is also buzzing about High Steppin'. Steve King of WGN in Chicago said, "This is the best album I have heard in over a decade, period." Michael Dubois of CBKL-FM in Quebec City said, "Ray Charles lives again!!"

In Grebb's words, he describes High Steppin' as a reflection of his influences throughout his career: "I feel this album is a reflection of real American musical art forms that occurred historically and chronologically and represents music that I have come to love over a long career. Even though there are some slight modernizations here or there in the recordings, you can play them next to music recorded in that era and I believe they will hold up in terms of authenticity. Of the numerous labels I approached, Luna Chica Records was the only one that really got that, and relished it. They also were not afraid of my age, or that you wouldn’t be seeing me on American Idol or some such anytime soon. Good music really IS timeless. I still love to listen to Jazz of the 20s through the 60s, as well as spiritual, Blues, and R&B of that same time period. Long live American music!"

Garth Hudson describes the multiple influences he hears coming through Marty's music and his playing on High Steppin': "Marty Grebb has a fine voice that speaks as an old friend. Every instrument on High Steppin' is crafted in a natural, dedicated, fashionable manner. The styles presented here are all "official" and the charts are excellent. Marty speaks the language of the saxophone eloquently as did the great soloists through the past seventeen decades. Listening to his alto fills and solos I hear a contemporary player and a "now" sound. Listening to his tenor fills, solos, and compositions I hear messages from Ben, Coleman, Lester, Illinois J., Bud, Louis J., Cleanhead, Thin Man, Big Jay, Red P., Arnett, Joe H., Gatortail, Lockjaw, Maxwell, Sam The Man, Big Al, Fathead, Earl B., Sil, Lee, and Clifford. Imagine David Sanborn, David Koz, Grover Cleveland, Lenny Pickett, and Marty Grebb sitting with all of the above at a big round table."

The words of praise are not lost on Grebb's label head. "The caliber of artists that Marty has performed and toured with stands on its own merits," says Cline. "We are talking legends like Eric Clapton, Leon Russell, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks, and BB King. Not too many artists, if any, can boast that around here."

In essence, the music of Marty Grebb is something that Cline feels has disappeared from much of today's music scene, and that word is real - regardless of the age factor. "We are so missing it. In a time when every cent in music sales counts, and we desperately need it, we are ignoring a huge demographic (45 and older) that would buy music if we gave them something they like. I hear it all the time. They don't want to buy music that is all about fairytales - they want real life experiences. They want to hear songs that make them smile, shed a tear, and think back on what they have experienced in life. But they don't want a 20 something year old singing it. That isn't real. Thank God for Americana music, which is now helping to fill that gap," she says.

After all, when you look at a list of acts that Grebb has worked with, one name that pops out is Willie Nelson. Though he moved to Music City in his late twenties, he didn't hit his stride until "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain" in 1975 - as he was closing in on his mid-forties. What if he had decided to give up because of what some in the business might have considered "advanced age?"

Marty Grebb is one of those artists who will make you a believer, and with High Steppin' - that time is now!

Congratulations to Steff Mahan whose songs have been selected to be featured in Venice The Series - "Not So Perfect" and "Things I Knew About You."
